Sensex edges lower tracking weak global cues

Sensex and Nifty slides down by 0.08 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively

Sensex rises up to 26,960.52 and Nifty shoots up to 8,062.25 on Tuesday

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex falls 0.08 per cent, while the Nifty is down 0.1 per cent. The Nifty posted its lowest close since August 14 on Tuesday. Indexes track weak Asian and US markets, which fell on worries about waning global growth. Growth in China's services sector weakened slightly in September, while German industrial output slumped.

Technology and healthcare stocks lead the decline.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries falls 2.3 per cent, while Cipla Ltd is down 2.9 per cent. Shares in Infosys fall 1.4 per cent after Citigroup downgrades it ahead of earnings on Friday.
