It would seem that Saif Ali Khan still hasn’t gotten over the debacle of Humshakals. The most recent example was at an event where he was making a donation to the sports programme Olympic Gold Quest, of which he is the brand ambassador.

As he donated the sum of Rs 20 lakh to the programme, Saif quipped, “I’m pledging Rs 20 lakhs to Gold Quest. I might have donated more but my last film (Humshakals) didn’t do too well, unfortunately.”

Even as the audience cracked up at this latest example of Saif’s tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, the actor continued on a more serious note: “I’m a product of the marriage of the two things that people here get excited about films and cricket. We are not a poor country but an imbalanced country, some of us have a lot and others don’t. You need more than just talent to reach to the top in sports,” he said, explaining why he was making the contribution.
