karimnagar: Finance and civil supplies minister Etela Rajender said that activists were the foundation for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He was speaking at the district-level party meeting held here on Tuesday. Nizamabad MP K. Kavita and other party legislators also attended the meeting.

Mr. Rajender said party activists and workers were the ones who really strived for the development of TRS.  “They are the foundation for the party,” he said, adding that those really working hard for strengthening the party would be recognised duly.
He urged party workers to make the plenary session and public meeting planned in Hyderabad on October 11 and 12 a grand success. Over 1.5 lakh activists would turn up for the public meeting, he said.

On the power crisis, he blamed the erstwhile TD and Congress parties for the pathetic situation. “Farmers and industries are facing hard times due to power shortage,” he said. He suggested that the party activists should hit back the criticism of TD and Congress leaders on power shortage.
A 470-MW hydel power plant in Siler of Khammam was transferred to Andhra Pradesh following creation of separate Telangana.

A total of 900 MW power is not being supplied from Krishnapatnam to Telangana state, he said. Many power projects have not been completed due to shortage of funds and so we are experiencing  power crisis, he said.
