Hyderabad: It’s not even been a week, but the latest app in the market, Luxy has around 3,000 users. But before checking out the app, there is a “tiny” requirement to fulfill, you need to be rich.

The description for the app reads: “Luxy is the #1 luxury social dating app for wealthy men, women & beautiful people to meet, chat and date with other like-minded singles in their local area. Tinder is for all kinds of people, while Luxy is exclusively for the top 1 per cent demographic.”

The app helps one “meet wealthy men and attractive women” and works like Tinder, but “minus the riff raff”.

“Our app allows users to weed out the poor and unattractive,” said the CEO of Luxy in a press release. The average income of male users on Luxy is $200,000 (that accounts to approximately Rs 1,22,78,000).
Though generating a buzz, the app has also received a lot of flak from people across the world.

“The new dating app #Luxy is essentially promoting materialism, wealth gap, and sexism. What’s next? No black people?” a Twitter user commented.

Another wrote, “Not sure if it’s disgusting or genius… #LUXY ‘Tinder without the poor people’.” Even though the app is considered shallow by many, if you are a millionaire, this might just be the place.
