Chennai: Slamming the AIADMK government for continuing “violence” in the wake of Jayalalithaa’s conviction, PMK founder Dr S. Ramadoss demanded the Centre to invoke Article 355 of the Constitution to monitor and control the law and order situation in the state.
“We want the implementation of Article 355 so that the Centre has a control of the law and order situation in the state and the Governor will have powers to control it,” he told reporters here. However, he made it clear that PMK is not for President’s rule and that remains the party’s policy.
Criticising the AIADMK leaders including state ministers, MPs and MLAs for insulting the judges in Karnataka and putting out anti-Kanadiga posters, he demanded dismissal of state ministers M. C. Sampath and B. Valarmathi and filing of contempt of court cases against them. He also urged government to collect '1,000 crore towards the damages caused by AIADMK workers to government buses and other public property.
Urging the DMK president Karunanidhi to break his silence over Jayalalithaa’s conviction, Dr Ramadoss said that public were also wondering why he is maintain a silence on this issue.
