5 per cent DA hike for AP employees

The DA would be paid in cash along with October’s salary, payable on November 1

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday issued orders to increase the Dearness Allowance of government  employees by 5.992 per cent with retrospective effect from July 1. The DA would be paid in cash along with October’s salary, payable on November 1. The arrears for July-September would be credited to the General Provident Fund account. Staff retiring on or before January 31, 2015, will be paid arrears in cash.
 
However, in case of employees due to retire on or before January 31, 2015 the DA arrears would be paid in cash as employees due for retirement are exempted from making any subscription to the General Provident Fund in the last four months of service.
 
The government has also sanctioned an ad-hoc increase of Rs 100 per month in cash to part-time assistants and village revenue assistants from July 1, 2014. It will  be applicable to pensioners and  families.
