Erode: A four feet long snake, which spat out five live rats, was captured from the pooja room of a house at Rengampalayam in Erode. The owners of the house were shocked to see the huge snake coiled up in the corner of the room on Thursday morning.
They immediately called for Home Guard Yuvaraj who is a snake catcher. Yuvaraj noticed that the body of the snake was swollen and the snake was motionless. As he tried to move the snake out of the house, the snake suddenly threw up five rats that it had gobbled up live.
After the rats emerged out, the snake began to slither away. According to Yuvaraj, the snake appeared to be of a rare species as it appeared to be a combination of viper and cobra. The snake could be venomous , he said. Even the forest personnel had not come across this kind of a snake, he said.
