Yeddyurappa, Shettar to hit Maharashtra campaign trail
BJP leaders would campaign in various constituencies like Mumbai and Pune
A team of BJP leaders from the state including former Chief Ministers B.S. Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar are heading for Maharashtra to campaign in the elections to the state assembly there from October 10 to 13.
Revealing this to reporters here on Thursday, Opposition leader in the legislative council, K.S. Eshwarappa said the state BJP leaders would campaign in various constituencies like Mumbai, Sollapur, Pune and Nathur.
Asserting that the BJP would come to power in Maharashtra winning a full majority, he tried to downplay the split with the Shiv Sena saying, “We had a good alliance with Shiv Sena for two and a half decades, but the alliance broke for various reasons, and now we are going it alone.” He, however, contended that the people of Maharashtra would vote for the party based on the performance of the Modi government at the Centre.
