With the increasing trend of clicking ‘selfie’ photos, HTC recently launched its new smartphone, the Desire Eye with a high-end camera. But is this smartphone better than the HTC One M8? Will the Desire Eye sales soar higher than HTC One M8? It will all depend on the consumers’ preference.
HTC has made several minor changes between the two smartphones:
Display, body and thickness
The HTC Desire Eye features a 5.2-inch (1080x1920 pixel) display, with 424-ppi pixel density. It weighs around 154 grams and measures a thickness of 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm.
On the other hand, HTC One M8 sports a 5-inch (1080x1920 pixel) display with 441-ppi pixel density. The handset weighs around 160 grams and measures a thickness of 146.4 x 70.6 x 9.4 mm. HTC One M8 has a metal body, which seems to be much solid as compared to the Desire Eye which has a colourful waterproof plastic body. HTC One M8 and Desire Eye comes powered by 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM.
Camera:
On its camera front, both of these remarkable phones have a major difference.
The HTC One M8 sports a 5MP rear shooter and 4MP camera on its front, with the Ultrapixel element. However, Desire Eye comes with a 13MP rear as well as front-facing camera, which can impress those who love to click selfies. With HTC's Zoe collaborative video-editing app on Desire Eye, one can easily remix photos and videos into stylish highlight reels.
Battery
HTC Desire Eye is fuelled with 2400mAh battery, whereas, HTC One (M8) comes packed with 2600mAh battery. HTC One (M8) is available in two variants i.e 16GB and 32GB. But, if you want to buy the Desire Eye, it is only available in one variant-16GB. Its storage capacity can be expanded up to 128GB.

The price of Desire Eye, with 13MP camera hasn't been revealed yet. At present, HTC One (M8) is priced at Rs 40,850 on Flipkart.
