Boman Irani to turn director soon
Currently he is busy with the promotions of Happy New Year
From a modest businessman to being one of the most sought-after actors in the industry, Boman Irani’s steady growth in Bollywood has been commendable. It’s also impressive the way he has managed to maintain good relations with everybody in the industry. Currently, busy with the promotions of Happy New Year, Boman is also giving final touches to the script that he has been writing. The actor is gearing up to turn director.
“Directing a film is the most inevitable step. I’ve been an ardent fan of cinema. I might be a decade old in the profession but I’d like to believe that I have an eye for detail and a decent script sense,” Boman says, adding that his directorial debut might not necessarily feature big stars. “If I’m making a hard-core commercial film, then it makes sense to have all the viable names in it. I’ll pitch the film to my friends from the industry after I have a concrete script,” he says. He reveals that he shares a close bond with co-star Shah Rukh Khan. “I’m very fond of SRK and Aamir Khan. I’d want to cast them in my film but if the budget of the film is a constraint I’m afraid I might not be able to afford them,” he adds.
Usually when actors turn directors, their films are under intense scrutiny. “I’m aware of the pressure but it’s not something that one can’t handle,” says a confident Boman, adding, “If I celebrate the applause that I get for my good work, one has to be ready to take the flak for the below average work.”
