Bengaluru: An adult female leopard was run over by a vehicle on Bannerghatta Main Road, a few metres away from the NICE Road junction, around 6.30 pm on Monday. Residents of Kalkere, which is close to the accident spot, said that a private bus hit the big cat, while forest officials said it was a car. Bannerghatta National Park Director Sunil Panwar said the postmortem will be conducted on Tuesday morning.

This is the third leopard to have been killed by vehicle on road in the last three years around Bannerghatta. The last two deaths were reported on NICE Road near the Kanakpura intersection.
