ISL: Like IPL, ‘Fair Play Awards’ trophy unveiled
Indian football’s biggest event to have reward for teams with discipline
New Delhi: As the popularity of the Indian Super League (ISL) continues to grow by the day, the event's 'Fair Play Awards' trophy was unveiled here on Tuesday. Standing at a height of two feet and designed in the shape of a gold-coloured whistle, the trophy is being presented by ISL partners Muthoot Group. The trophy will be given to the team, which earns the maximum Fair Play points at the end of the football league.
Speaking about the partnership with the Fair Play sponsors, Colonel Gautam Kar, Director, All India Football Federation (AIFF), said, "We are glad that the Muthoot Group has has made a commitment to support the first ever season of the Hero India Super League as the official Referee and Fair Play Awards sponsor. We are extremely proud of our association with the company and are confident that the group's support will encourage players to live up to the values of the game of football."
The high-profile 10-week football league, which kickstarted on October 12, will conclude on December 20. It features many Indian and international players with eight teams playing 61 matches in eight cities across the country.
