Mumbai: A while ago, Deepika Padukone almost had a path paved to becoming a global star.
For those not aware, Deepika had said ‘yes’ to feature in the seventh installment of Fast and Furious. Everything was signed and sealed and the actress was ready to take her first big step in Hollywood, something no actress would have second thoughts about.
But Deepika Padukone did, and it was for Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who launched her in Om Shanti Om. She told this newspaper, “It’s also about doing what is right. And the right thing to do was to stand by the people who you are committed to. My commitment was to Farah and Shah Rukh. I won’t say they need me, they could have got anyone for this, but they wanted me for this film (Happy New Year)and I am glad that I could work it out and be a part of this film."
She adds, " It’s a commitment I made and I stand by it. I wish Fast and Furious came to me earlier but it wasn’t a hard decision for me. It was a no-brainer.”
