Hyderabad: Paving the way for quick and permanent allotment of babus, Centre’s Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), which is looking after the allocation of All India Service (AIS) officers, has accepted the proposal of AP and Telangana chief secretaries on “order to serve”.

In view of the delay in the allotment of AIS officers, the chief secretaries of both the governments came to an understanding and wrote a joint letter to DoPT proposing the “order to serve”.

DoPT has issued a provisional list of AIS officers allotted to AP and Telangana. Except a few, almost all AIS officers expressed their willingness to work in the states which they were allotted.

AP chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said 95 per cent of the AIS officers are ready to work in the states as allotted in the provisional list.

The DoPT has asked both chief secretaries to send a joint acceptance letter for “order to serve”. He said the DoPT has accepted their proposal of “order to serve”.

After taking approval of their respective Chief Ministers, the chief secretaries will send a joint letter to DoPT. After receiving the acceptance letter from both chief secretaries, DoPT will issue order to serve allotting AIS officers for the both states.

Mr Krishna Rao said this will be almost the final list. DoPT will keep pending the allotment of AIS officers, who have objections to the provisional list. After the Prime Minister’s approval they will be allotted to respective states.

Meanwhile, C.R. Kamalanathan Committee, which is looking after the allotment of state cadre officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, postponed its meeting. Mr Krishna Rao has asked for the postponement in view of cyclone Hudhud.
