Rural Assembly constituency of Pollachi has the most number of women voters
CoimbatoreWomen voters outnumber men in five out of the ten Assembly constituencies in Coimbatore district, according to the draft electoral rolls released by collector Archana Patnaik in Coimbatore on Wednesday.
 
The rural Assembly constituency of Pollachi, with a total of 2,06,226 electorate, has the most number of women voters in Coimbatore district. There are 1,04,808 women voters, against the 1,01,414 men voters in Pollachi segment.
 
Next comes Valparai constituency with 3,342 more women voters than men. It has 92,960 women voters, against 89,618 male voters.
 
The Mettupalayam constituency, with its total electorate of 2,56,807, has 2,572 more women voters than men. This Assembly constituency has 1,29,684 women electorate, compared to 1,27,112 male voters. 
 
Similarly, Sulur constituency has 1,019 more women voters, while the Kinathukadavu segment has 611 more women voters.
 
Among the 10 Assembly constituencies, Kavundampalayam has the largest electorate of 3,74,329 voters and Valparai, the smallest electorate of 1,82,581 voters.
 
As on October 15, Coimbatore district has 13,01,593 male voters and 13,00,164 female voters and 81 transgenders. In total, the district has 26,01,838 voters.
