Power-cut free Telangana by 2017, says Etela

Minister said action plan has been chalked out to produce 6,000-MW

Khammam: Minister for finance, planning and civil supplies Etela Rajender said the government would make Telangana state power cut-free by 2017. He was speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday. The minister said action plan has been chalked out to produce 6,000-MW in the next three years at a cost of Rs 35,000 crore. 
 
He said that Khammam district will be made a power hub in the state by setting up thermal power plants at the place.
On the KG-PG free education plan, he said the government would extend quality education to all the kids on par to that being offered in corporate institutions. 
The minister said the government was not treating budget allocated to the education sector as expenditure. “Officials who studied in government schools are more knowledgeable than those who pursued academics in corporate schools,” he observed.
 
On the comprehensive household survey held recently, the minsiter said that nearly 12 lakh bogus white ration cards were cancelled after the survey.  This has helped the government save 20,000 tonne rice,” he said.The minister laid foundation stones for additional rooms to be built at the government schools in Nayabazar, Riccabazar, Santinagar and Manchukonda.
