Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Dr T. Rajaiah said that funds lying in the hospital development and community development funds amounting to Rs 113 crores, must be used for the development and upgrading of facilities.
Addressing the hospital superintendents and senior health officers at a meeting on Wednesday, Mr Rajaiah said, the non-utilisation of funds is leading to lowering of service quality. It is also proving to be a major hurdle in maintaining sanitation in the hospital.
Once the system is upgraded, Dr Rajaiah said, “We can work out a policy whereby the Aarogyasri patients will find government hospitals a better option than the private hospitals. Currently, the share of government hospitals is only 27 per cent.
