THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even as a series of video clips has brought con woman  Saritha S. Nair back in focus, a police team probing into the sexual allegation raised by Saritha against Congress MLA A.P. Abdullakutty is planning to refer the case as undetected.

Though there were rumours linking the recently leaked out video footages with that of the allegations  against the MLA, police sources said that the video clips did not convey any signs of a rape and hence they would not become  supporting evidence for the allegation against the MLA.

Despite over six months of probe, the special police team so far has not received any evidence to substantiate the allegation by Saritha that she was raped by the MLA at KTDC-run Mascot Hotel in the city.

“Though we have not received any evidence so far, we could not close the investigation as the chances of any evidence  surfacing in future could not be fully ruled out. Hence, we are planning to refer the case as undetected,” said a police officer.

Despite repeated notices from the police over the last two months, Saritha did not turn up for giving any statements or evidence. The police team is now awaiting details of Abdullahkutty’s attendance in the Assembly during  2012 in which he allegedly raped Saritha.

The police team led by city crime detachment assistant commissioner K.E. Baiju has already verified registers of  Mascot Hotel and taken statements from many, including those who reserved rooms and convention halls in the hotel during the day in which Abdullakutty allegedly raped Saritha.

The mobile phone tower location of Abdullakutty also could not give any evidence to the police as  the
hotel was located close to the legislature complex and the Assembly
session was in progress during the  period.
