Srinagar: Two Army jawans sustained minor injuries in an IED blast near Nadihal village of Jammu and Kashmir’s north-western district of Baramulla on Thursday. The injured jawans were rushed to a hospital.
The IED, which was reportedly planted by militants, went off as an Army convoy passed by, damaging a vehicle. Army said in a statement here, “A major tragedy was averted when an IED blast took place near Nadihal area of Baramulla on the Army convoy moving from Chowkibal in frontier Kupwara to Srinagar at 11. 05 am. One vehicle was damaged in the blast and two soldiers on board suffered minor injuries.”
It added the area was cordoned off and searches for the possibility of other explosives started immediately after the blast. “On getting clearance from explosive experts, the convoy was allowed moved to a safer location,” it said. Army also said that the condition of the injured jawans was “stable”. End it
