Placement for students in Abu Dhabi Petroleum Institute
8 students selected for PG courses, with a stipend of 4000 dirhams

Kollam: Abu Dhabi Petroleum Institute, one of the premier institutes in the world for petroleum related studies, will offer placements for students of TKM Engineering College here. Prof Dr Fawzi Ahmed Banat from the institute also invited students to pursue their masters in Abu Dhabi. He offered them scholarships.
He was talking about ‘Advances in Chemical Engineering and Technology’ [ICACE TKMCE 2014], an international seminar organized by the chemical engineering department of TKM College of Engineering at the Quilon Beach Hotel here on Friday.
Dr Banat is the professor and chairman of the chemical engineering department of the Petroleum Institute. “The professor has also offered to take a minimum of eight students for post graduate courses, with a stipend of 4000 dirhams. The institute is also likely to offer placements to our students”, said Dr A.S.Abdul Rasheed, head of the chemical engineering department of TKMCE.
Dr Banat also talked on ‘Advanced technology for oil and gas produced water treatment’. He also discussed the latest technologies used in petroleum waste treatment. This was followed by an interactive session. The three-day conference concluded with a valedictory programme at which former ambassador T.P. Sreenivasan was the chief guest.
