Karimnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Dr T. Rajaiah said here on Friday that both the Congress and Telugu Desam were resorting to criticise Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao because the two parties were jealous and insecure. In an effort to rebut verbal attack by the two parties, Mr Rajaiah said that criticising Mr Rao was like a thief blaming himself. “Any statement against Telangana Chief Minister is spitting over the sun.
These two parties were never concerned for farmers. Gas-based power generation projects in Shankarapatnam and Nedunuru were shelved by the two parties,” he charged.
He faulted cadres of the Congress and TD for not pressing for Telangana state’s legitimate share in power from power plants in Krishnapatnam and Sileru. The parties’ silence forced 1,200 youths and students to commit suicide seeking a separate Telangana state, he added.
“Legislators of the Congress were smiling when the then chief minister K. Kiran Kumar Reddy was saying that he would not allocate a single penny to Telangana after TRS MLA T. Harish Rao’s question that the government for its alleged discrimination towards Telangana region in the past,” he recollected. He claimed that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to achieve surplus in power production in three years.
Answering to a question, Mr Rajaiah said that a sum of Rs 29 lakh would be used for improving sanitation in Civil Hospital, besides taking up appointment of sufficient doctors. He stated that the government was committed to provide better medical care to public in the state. “I visited the hospital to know ground realities following media reports over poor medical facilities. I will again visit the hospital after 30 days,” he added.
