Visakhapatnam: Irked by the apathy of officials towards relief operations in the aftermath of Hudhud havoc, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu plans to shunt out more than 10 district officials of various departments, revenue, police, fire service and municipal to other areas.
A senior IAS officer on the condition of anonymity said that Mr Naidu pulled up some of the IAS, IPS, IRS officials and also officials of key departments for their indifference in re-lief operations.
“While officials of other cities are actively participating in releif operations, city-based officials are indifferent to the relief works,” he added.
Sources said that Mr Naidu had fumed at some of the IAS, IPS and civic officials for failing to guide their staff that caused confusion in distributing relief material.
Sources also said that Naidu’s team would assess the performance of officials in this crisis period.
The IAS and IPS officials who have been either allotted to or opted for Telangana Cadre and some of the officials who were transferred, but not yet relived were unwilling to discharge their duties, intelligence department.
