Chennai: AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa on Sunday assured party cadres that that she will emerge successfully out of the difficult situation that she finds herself in, just as she had done several times in the past.
In her first communiqué since reaching Chennai on Saturday, Ms Jayalalithaa said that her public life is like swimming in a sea of inferno. “Since the day I committed myself to public life, I have been experiencing the ordeals of leading a life dedicated to the welfare of the people,” the former CM said.
Conveying her condolences for the death of 193 people as an aftermath of her conviction, the AIADMK general secretary announced a relief of '3 lakh to each of families. The party will give '50,000 to each of the three persons, who attempted suicide and were admitted to hospitals for treatment.
In a letter addressed to Ms Jayalalithaa, superstar Rajinikanth said, “I am very glad to have you back in Poes Garden. Praying for good times for you, always wishing you well for good health and peace.”
He signed off wishing Jayalalithaa ‘Happy Deepavali’.
