Coimbatore: Next to the ice bucket challenge and the rice bucket challenge, it is now "Let's take a crazy selfie pulla" challenge that is going viral for a social cause.
The Students Society Party Trust, by means of this challenge, proposes to reach the maximum number of children in orphanages and government schools and help them with a stationery kit besides motivating them to pursue their dream.
The trust proposes to contribute suck kits containing all the essentials required in a classroom to 10,000 children in the next three months.
"Let's take a crazy selfie pulla" was started by a team of young professionals of the trust who wish to touch the lives of millions of children the fun way, through a simple crazy selfie.
The smiley selfie challenge involves posting of selfies and challenging others to post similar selfies on the SSP Trust's Facebook page www.facebook.com/sspselfiesmileychallenge by tagging them.
For every selfie posted, the SSP will contribute a stationery kit to a child at orphanages and government schools. We will reach all the needy children, says president Thamim Ansari M. He mentioned that giving a stationery kit not only served the purpose of assisting them in their classroom activities; they would also conduct motivational sessions to assure them that they have SSPians to support their dream.
An inspiring, motivational theme song of the SSP Trust was also released as part of the event on Sunday. The anthem has powerful lyrics that are meant to encourage more youngsters to serve needy children.
