Hyderabad: Following the Assembly results in Haryana and Maharashtra, BJP leaders in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh feel that there will now be greater potentiality for the party to grow independently and provide an alternative to the ruling establishments.

However, in all probability, the BJP will continue its alliance with the Telugu Desam Party in the coming GHMC polls in Telangana.

“We need to tread cautiously in Telangana; a BJP-TDP alliance is a must in the GHMC polls due to predominant votes of the Seemandhra people who settled here and who will never vote for the TRS. But, at the same time, we need to grow independently in the rest of Telangana, particularly in the rural areas,” said a party spokesperson.
