IAS officer Rashmi Mahesh attack to be probed by CID
IAS officer Rashmi Mahesh was assaulted by a mob on October 15
Bengaluru: The state government on Monday has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate last week's incident in which IAS officer and Director General of Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Mysore, Rashmi Mahesh was assaulted by a mob on October 15, when she had gone to pay her last respects to a canteen contract worker found dead on the Administrative Training Institute campus.
Director General and Inspector General of Police Lalrokhuma Pachuau told this newspaper that he handed over the inquiry to the CID after Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee wrote to him last weekend seeking a thorough and impartial probe into the attack on the IAS officer and the role of the police in preventing the unfortunate incident.
