B-Town preps up for Diwali taash party

In the film industry, two kinds of gatherings witness stars chatting up for hours together — film premieres and Diwali taash parties. So this time of the year it is a common sight to see stars making a beeline for the hottest taash parties in B-town.

The biggest of all the parties is the Bachchans taash party, which takes place on October 23 at their residence. The invites have already gone out to the special guests and we hear Mr Bachchan himself has chalked out the guest list. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is busy preparing to play the perfect hostess, ensuring a grand spread of food and other arrangements. Abhishek Bachchan, who was in Dubai for the premiere of Happy New Year, arrived on Thursday morning and will keep the guests entertained in the evening.

The highlight of the Bachchan card parties is that Amitabh Bachchan himself plays from start to finish. Everyone sits on the floor for the game and the betting goes up to lakhs of rupees. Karan Johar, who is in New York, will fly back to be a part of Bachchans’ and Aamir’s party. Other guests include Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Goldie Behl, Sonali Bendre, Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher, Ramesh Taurani, Vipul Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh among many more.

Aamir is also throwing a party at the same time and a few common guests will be moving from one party to another. Aamir’s party will see Anushka Sharma, Raj Kumar Hirani, Farhan Akhtar among other stars. Ranbir and Katrina will be missing from these parties as they are away in Thailand shooting for Jagga Jasoos. Akshay Kumar, who is known for his taash prowess, is also away as he is holidaying with his wife and children in Singapore.

On Wednesday night producer Vipul Shah and Ekta Kapoor had their respective card parties at their homes. Both parties saw a good number of guests. Ekta’s guest list comprised people she has worked with in the past.

 Among other celebrities, Farah Khan, who has returned from Dubai after the premiere of Happy New Year, is likely to have a bash at her residence on Friday.
