Khammam: The Telangana government has taken a policy decision to auction off the non-performing assets of Nagarjunasagar project in Khammam and Miryalaguda divisions.
The assets include quarters which are in a dilapidated condition and the vacant lands that are not being used. It is decided to sell the excess lands and retain the required land for NSP office purposes.

The government took the decision keeping land grabbing in view in Khammam, Miryalaguda and Nagarjunasagar.
As per the details, there were residential quarters in 48 acre NSP lands in Khammam. About five acres had been encroached and some persons got lands after a legal battle.

A similar situation prevails in other places and the officials of NSP are unable to protect these lands. Telangana irrigation minister T. Harish Rao issued orders on the sale and asked the officials of roads and buildings (R&B) department to finalise the price of land and quarters based on market values.
