Hyderabad: Following a theft at P. Satyanarayan Sons Jewellers, in Mehdipatnam, on October 2, the Humayunnagar police apprehended six persons, including four women.

The arrested women are sisters. The women used to dress in burkhas and target jewellery stores during busy hours. On the pretext of selecting jewellery, they used to divert the attention of sales personnel and steal ornaments. CCTV footage helped cops to track down the suspects.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Zubeda Begum, 25, her husband Mohammed Haneef Shaik, Tahera Begum, 27, Fareeda, 24, her husband Mohammed Azher Ali, 25, and Saber Begum, 29.

Both the men are autorickshaw drivers. Fareeda has a three-month-old daughter and used to take her to jewellery shops.
