Mumbai: The drama surrounding the move to make Nitin Gadkari Maharashtra’s next CM continued Wednesday for the second day, with three MLAs offering to give up their Assembly seats to pave the way for Mr Gadkari to enter the legislature.

BJP MLA from Nagpur East Krishna Khopde, Nagpur South MLA Sudhakar Kohle and Hingna MLA Sameer Meghe have offered to quit their seats for Mr Gadkari. “It will be a matter of pride for me that a leader like Mr Gadkari will represent Nagpur South,” Mr Kohle said.  Mr Meghe said he would leave his seat for Mr Gadkari if the latter wanted to contest from the constituency. Mr Khopde is ready to quit for his mentor.
