Fans unveil Tamil actor Vijay’s statue in Chennai

After Kaththi’s success at the box-office, fans of Tamil star Ilayathalapathy Vijay unveiled his statue at a theatre in Chrompet, Chennai. The statue was sponsored by Vijay Fans Club on Facebook. Fans rejoiced by kissing the statue after it was unveiled.
Kaththi raked in over Rs 30 crore in its opening weekend worldwide. This film stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Samantha and Neil Nitin Mukesh in central roles. The Tamil action drama grabbed headlines when around 65 Tamil fringe groups sought a ban on the movie in August.
