Hyderabad: Karimnagar police believes that the  suspects involved in Choppadandi bank heist have links with Tehreek-e-Taliban, an infamous terrorist organisation. “We were informed by the MP Anti Terrorism Squad that the gang had links with Tehreek-e-Taliban, and the robbery was carried out as part of accumulating maal-e-ghaneemat, (loot money)," said a senior police official.

The four-member gang barged into the SBI at Choppadandi and looted the bank at gun point and decamped with  Rs 46 lakh. While a  manhunt  for the suspects has been launched by Delhi, MP, and TS police, NIA has stepped into the picture. “We are likely to have a meeting with NIA officials on Monday.

The investigation teams of the case, NIA and Counter Intelligence Cell of Hyderabad have already exchanged  intelligence inputs,” said an investigation official. Police officials confirmed that the investigation was not handed over to NIA yet.
