Gulbarga: Taking strong exception to the lackadaisical attitude of the Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre towards various development projects launched during his tenure as the Union Minister for Labour and Railways especially in the Hyderabad Karnataka region, Congress Parliamentary Party Leader in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge warned that the people of the backward region would rise in anger if they were not taken to the logical end.

Speaking at a function organized at Chittapur town near here to lay the foundation stone for an underground drainage project and other development works at a total cost of Rs 24 crore, Mr Kharge expressed his ire over the neglect of various projects launched during his tenure such as the Rs 1200 crore Employees State Insurance Corporations’ Hospital and Medical College Complex, railway division office, skill development centre, railway coach factory, textile park  etc.

“I’m deeply pained and hurt by the negligent attitude of the Central government towards the projects launched by me. Already two batches of MBBS students have been selected and are studying here.

But unfortunately neither the hospital has been sanctioned nor the staff recruitment done.  Besides approval has to be obtained for the medical, nursing, dental and pharmaceutical courses from the respective councils.

I have written letters to the Prime Minister, Health Minister and other Ministers concerned. But to my dismay the Centre has shut its eyes and during the last five months there has been little progress.

If the Centre persists with this attitude, it would be doing a great disservice to the backward HK region and the people would not tolerate this”, Mr Kharge said.
