Charging that the state government was bankrupt, JD(S) leader Y.S.V. Datta  said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was making false promises about developmental projects, though the treasury has no money.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Datta said even bureaucrats have understood that ministers were making false promises and have started neglecting them. Consequently, the government had lost control over the administration.

Citing an example, he said the CM was giving letters to every legislator, allotting money for rejuvenation of temples abd  directing the department to release Rs 10-25 lakh. When the legislators contact the Muzrai department, they realise such recommendations to the tune of Rs 250 crore are pending clearance from the finance department.
