Minor girls raped in separate incidents

The victim has no father and her mother, who works as a maid, returns home only at 9 pm

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old student was accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl under Kempegowda Nagar police limits on Monday. The accused, Madhu, had apparently fallen in love with the minor girl and the two eloped on October 20.The victim’s parents registered a missing complaint with the K.G. Nagar police station and the police, using the call record details, traced the duo to the city on Monday morning.
 
The girl, who is 16 years old, admitted before the police that she had a physical relationship. The police have booked Madhu under POCSO sections for rape and abduction. The minor girl has admitted to the cops that she had a physical relationship with another man and the police are gathering evidence against him to establish the crime and bring the culprit to book. The victim and the accused have been taken for medical examination.
 
In a similar incident under Banaswadi police limits, a 14-year-old tenth standard student has been raped by a 22-year-old mason, who is her neighbour. The minor girl has been raped several times between August and October 26 this year. The victim has no father and her mother, who works as a maid, returns home only at 9 pm. The police said that the accused, Somashekhar alias Soma, visited the girl’s house before her mother arrived and spent time with her.A case has been registered and Somashekhar has been booked for rape, criminal intimidation and different sections under POCSO and further investigations are underway.
