Amitabh Bachchan summoned by US court over 1984 anti-Sikh riots
The actor now has 21 days to respond to the charges

Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was summoned by the federal court of Los Angeles in the United States on Tuesday for allegedly instigating violence against the Sikh community in 1984, according to TV reports.
The report stated that the actor allegedly raised ‘blood for blood’ slogans which instigated violence against the Sikh community in October, 1984 after the then prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her bodyguards.
Amitabh Bachchan now has 21 days to respond to the charges. The actor was accused by petitioner Gurupatwant Pannum, a member of US-based human rights group ‘Sikhs For Justice’, the report stated. Thousands of Sikhs lost their lives in the communal riots that took place in November 1984.
