Telangana to develop SCCL on par with global standards
Proposals are being prepared for establishing an industrial corridor from Goleti in Adilabad

KARIMNAGAR: Finance and civil supplies minister Etela Rajender said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was striving hard to get international recognition to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He laid foundation stone for the construction of a flyover bridge at Ramagundam in Karimngar on Monday.
Interacting with the media, he said that that the Seemandhra rulers of the united Andhra Pradesh government neglected the development of the 125-year-old company. Mr Rajender claimed that the chief minister was preparing proposals to bring global recognition to the SCCL.
“Size of employees of the SCCL was reduced from 1.20 lakh to 62,000 due to the discrimination of Seemandhra rulers. But, Mr Rao is committed to develop the company on par with international standards by improving its performance,” he said.
The Telangana government would buy shares of Union government in the SCCL, if required, and develop it like never before, he asserted.
Similarly, proposals are being prepared for establishing an industrial corridor from Goleti in Adilabad to Manuguru of Khammam district on the lines of Manchester of the United States of America.
TS Genco power plant in Ramagundam would be expanded in order to overcome shortage of power in the state.
A 4,000 MW power plant would be commissioned by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in Ramagundam. Telangana state would be able to generate 10,000 MW of power with the new power plants in the next three years.
