Hyderabad: Metro Rail officials are having a tough time getting permissions from various departments like fire, municipal corporation and other government agencies for the prestigious project.
Concessionaire Larsen & Toubro is being asked to wait whenever the issues are being raised.

Similarly, there is no clarity on the Sultan Bazaar and Assembly stretch. A senior officer said, “Due to no official communication, the project is already getting delayed by a year.”

Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy, however, refuted these claims. He said, “The project is well within the time-frame. The issues of permission are also being taken up from time to time.” But L&T officers claimed otherwise. They said that the work was moving slowly and would only pick up pace if the state took firm decisions.

Losses, are estimated at Rs 2 crore per day. Efforts are on to complete the Nagole and Uppal stretch so that people can see the benefits.
