Uttar Pradesh to ban liquor sale on highways

This move is being implemented to check growing accidents due to drunk driving

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to shift all liquor shops located on highways in the state.

This is being done to check the growing number of accidents that take place due to drunken driving.

According to official sources, transport commissioner K. Ravinder Naik had instructed district administrations to remove all liquor shops operating on national highways and state highways immediately.
