Kerala sadya set to tickle palate, arouse symphony of senses in US
Programme titled ‘A Journey to Kerala’ to be introduced at fund raising event
ALAPPUZHA: Inspired by the delicacies of Kerala’s traditional 21-course vegetarian sadya (feast), Ivy Child International, a non-profit organization, located in Massachusetts, US, is set to introduce a programme titled ‘A Journey to Kerala’, at a fund raising programme, to be held on November 15 at Worcester Technical High School as part of its Mindfulness Movement in the US and beyond.
Rose Pavlov, founder of Ivy Child International says the authentic experience will be accompanied by one of America’s top 50 chefs, Chef Gomez’s culinary storytelling, ranging from tastes on the palate to the symphony of the senses. The event will also feature a VIP reception, traditional entertainment, and a silent auction.
“All guests are encouraged to wear cream and gold honoring the colours of Kerala. The event will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 6 pm to 9 pm at Worcester Technical High School (US Department of Education 2014, Blue Ribbon Award) on the mindfulness movement in our nation and beyond. This epic cultural and culinary evening featuring a Kerala feast by Chef Asha Gomez will be a true mindful journey through Kerala”, said Pavlov.
Mindfulness, a programme which was introduced by Ivy Child International among children, emphasizes the practical application of mindfulness in coping with stress, adopting sustainable health habits, and enhancing conscious awareness.
The website of Ivy Child International explains that as US suffers from an increasing number of domestic conflicts, the critical need for effective mental and behavioural health practices is in high demand to target and reduce violence. This event aims to unite communities towards peace-building efforts and to create awareness about the positive impact of mindfulness throughout New England of US. All proceeds from this event will benefit Mindfulness-Based Learning programmes in Worcester schools.
