Hyderabad: The trial run of Rajni, the elephant, was conducted from Dabeerpura, Charminar, to Mir Alam Mandi, on Wednesday afternoon, for Youm-e-Ashura the 10th day of Muharram when the Bibi Ka Alam  is taken out in a procession. The elephant was first fed in the zoo and was acquainted with those who will be staying close to it. The elephant gets scared and sometimes also gets tired when she is surrounded by crowds. To ensure that this does not happen, the devotees have been asking for a trial run.

Mir Hadi Ali explained, “The trial run was successful and we are happy that the government has allowed for the same. It is for the people to understand that they need to be alert and not come too close to the animal during the final procession.
