Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to arrive in Varanasi for a two-day visit next month, during which he will discuss the plan of adopting a village from his constituency under the MP Model Village Scheme, besides inaugurating a trauma centre at the Banaras Hindu University.

"PM Modi is likely to be on a two-day visit on November 7 and 8 to Varanasi and all necessary planning and security arrangements will be made by the district administration ahead of his visit," Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Om Prakash Chaubey said today, adding a letter informing the district administration from PMO was received last night.

"A brief schedule (minute to minute detail) of PM Modi from the PMO has not been received yet and is still awaited here," Chaubey said.

"PM Modi during his visit will inaugurate BHU's Trauma Centre here and will also 'discuss and may choose' a village from his constituency to adopt it under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).

"Besides this, there are also other programs in which PM will participate," said Sanjay Bhardwaj, media in-charge of Varanasi as well as of Poorvanchal (Eastern UP) region.

Earlier, PM Modi's two-day visit to the city on October 14 and 15 was postponed due to cyclone 'Hudhud'. Various programs including BHU's Trauma centre inauguration in the city were too postponed and have been re-scheduled for his further visit.
