Puducherry: Chief Minister of Puducherry N. Rangasamy on Wednesday said the territorial administration is keen to provide full fledged and quality health care facilities for patients, particularly for those facing critical illness.

The existing CT scanner would be able to meet the requirements of patients with head injuries and would bring out sharp results relating to cerebral, cardiac and neuro ailments, he said after commissioning a Rs 7 crore highly sophisticated CT scanner and other facilities at Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital here.

Rangasamy said the hospital authorities were facing difficulty in getting specialists as the specialists could be recruited and posted only by Union Public Service Commission.
Most of the specialists from northern states did not prefer posting in Puducherry and even if posted posted they did not remain in service for a long time.
