Sandeep Saxena assumes charge as new chief electoral officer of Tamil Nadu

He was formerly principal secretary to the government

Chennai: Senior IAS officer Sandeep Saxena on Wednesday assumed charge as the chief electoral officer for Tamil Nadu at the state public elections department in the secretariat. 
 
Mr Saxena, who was formerly principal secretary to the government, agriculture department was given a farewell. Outgoing CEO Praveen Kumar greeted the new CEO. Praveen Kumar will now the head the state technical education department as its commissioner.  
 
On day one the new CEO was greeted by the staff of the election department and other government officials. He skipped the informal press interaction during his installation, but told reporters that his office would be open to them when he had settled into the department. 
 
“I need some time to study the scenario and will periodically interact with the media,” was the CEO’s response to media professionals who were waiting to discuss the vacancy of the Srirangam assembly seat.
