Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam gears up for Brahmotsavam festival
Nine-day festival to begin at Padmavathi temple on November 19
Tirupati: The arrangements for the annual Brahmotsavam at goddess Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanoor are in full swing with just 20 days left for the annual festival to begin from November 19.
Special grade deputy executive officer of the Tiruchanoor temple Ms Chencu Lakshmi held a review meeting with the officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam and the priests of the Tiruchanoor temple on Wednesday.
Speaking to this newspaper, Ms Chenchu Lakshmi said that elaborate arrangements including foolproof barricading works around the Tiruchanoor temple, the Padma Sarovaram, engineering related repair works for the golden chariot, beautification of the temple complex as well as the roads that lead to Tiruchanoor were underway.
She said that the temple administration along with the TTD vigilance and the district police wing had held coordination meetings to ensure foolproof security measures are in place for the festival that draws millions of devotees.
The Dy.EO said that 200 vigilance staff and 300 Srivari sevaks would be be engaged for Brahmotsavam duties during the nine-day long festival.
“Keeping in view the heavy pilgrim crowds expected for the Panchami Teertham we are setting up separate entry and exit gates leading into the temple tank to avoid inconvenience to the devotees as well as to prevent any untoward incidents,” she said.
She said that separate parking lots are being created at several points near the Tiruchanoor temple for the convenience of the devotees. She said that a security review would be held by the Tirupati JEO Pola Bhaskar along with TTD chief vigilance and security officer G. Srinivas and Tirupati SP Gopinath Jatti on Friday.
