Hyderabad: The Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on Thursday granted respite to Somesh Kumar, commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, by restraining the Centre and the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from initiating any steps to move him from the post till November 7.
A two-member bench comprising B. Venkateswara Rao (judicial) and Ranjana Chowdary (administration) was hearing the plea of Somesh Kumar seeking to declare his allotment to AP as illegal and in meanwhile direct the Centre to continue him in Telangana state.
The Centre has opposed his plea contending that his representation to the Centre in this regard is under active consideration.
Senior counsel D.V. Seetharama Murthy appearing for the petitioner said they challenged the faulty guidelines prepared by the committee and that they have an apprehension that the outcome of the committee's deliberations would not yield them any justice.
The bench directed the respondents that the status quo be maintained till November 7 and adjourned the hearing.
