Chennai: Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president B.S.Gnanadesikan on Wednesday offered to quit his post, thereby ending his three-year-long tenure that was marked by several ebbs and flows.

In his resignation addressed to party president Sonia Gandhi, Gnanadesikan thanked the Gandhis and said, “I tried my level best to bring unity in the party. To enable you to reconstitute the Pradesh Congress committee without any hindrance, I am offering my resignation as president of TNCC.”  Speaking to DC, he said, “I was not comfortable for the last three months. My requests to appoint TNCC secretaries went unheeded.”
