Sonia, Rahul pay tribute to former PM Indira Gandhi on 30th death anniversary
An all religion prayer will be held at the venue
New Delhi: The nation today remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 30th death anniversary with President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and other leaders paying tributes to her.
Mukherjee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid floral tributes at Shakti Sthal, the memorial of Indira Gandhi.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other senior party leaders Motilal Vora, M Veerappa Moily, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ahmed Patel, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Digvijay Singh and Shakeel Ahmad also paid tributes to Indira Gandhi.
Devotional songs were played at the venue. A speech made by Gandhi was also played on the occasion. An all religion prayer will also be held at the venue.
Indira Gandhi fell to assassins' bullets on this day in 1984 at her 1, Safdarjung Road residence in New Delhi. She was killed by her Sikh bodyguards more than four months after Operation Blue Star, which was launched on the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Functions will also be held at the Indira Gandhi Memorial at 1 Safdarjung Road.
