Vijayawada: The website of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which actually initiated the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh that led to the birth of India’s 29th state, seems to be unaware of the bifurcation. Telangana does not even exist on the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs even months after its formation.
The list of states and Union Territories, or the map of India, on the website does not include Telangana. A search on ‘Telangana’ also shows no results. AP and Telangana have their own home departments with two DGPs. The departments also observed the Police Commemoration Day separately.
However, the police department of Telangana, which recently launched a smartphone app for tracing lost vehicles, is still using the website of AP police (apstatepolice.org) and does not have one of its own.
All online services of the Telangana State police are being provided by the AP Police website.
