Karimnagar : A cabinet sub-committee, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. T. Rajaiah, recommended that Karimnagar and many other cities in the state should have ring roads for smooth flow of traffic. Mr. Rajaiah said ring road works in Karimnagar would begin in the next one month.

He directed officials concerned to prepare master plans to construct the ring road around Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Sangareddy, Mahabub-nagar and Nalgonda district headquarters. He stated that the tendering process for the ring road works would begin soon.

Further, he said that the ring roads would be laid by following guidelines set by the Indian Roads Congress (IRS) in order to prevent road accidents and to avoid other challenges witnessed on a road network.

Around  2 lakh vehicles, including heavy and transportation vehicles, pass through Karimnagar city roads everyday.

“The ring road would reduce flow of vehicles giving scope for fewer road accidents. The ring road would also help ease passing through the city than before,” said Karimnagar Traffic Inspector Samala Upendar.

He urged people driving vehicles to be cautious while driving so as not to cause trouble and problem to their fellow travellers on the roads.
